A Lacaida Original, this tarp's graphics were made by artist Kika McFarlane and depict the entrance of Horseshoe Canyon Ranch. Locally known as "the Ranch" this is the flagship of Arkansas crags, the single most developed and highly concentrated (475+ routes) climbing destination in Arkansas, and arguably the best moderate sport climbing area in the country.
Originally settled by the Kilgore & Lyon families in the early 1900's, the 350-acre tract was purchased by Barry & Amy Johnson in 1994. Back then it was just a dirt road that ended in an old chimney.
Today this working dude ranch offers climbers access to hundreds of sport, trad, and boulder routes and problems, as well as onsite camping. It has gained notoriety for hosting the annual 24 Hours of Horseshoe Hell competition each year in September.
This tarp was produced by local 501c3 nonprofit Interform, who works to create self-sustaining design-led fashion and art industry in Northwest Arkansas.
